The Definition of the Symbol
This symbol can remind people of Chinese Kung-Fu, but apparently, this symbol is actually used for Taoism's symbol. It shows a circle divided by 2 sections with black and white color, with a dot on each side. Also the line that divides the circle is wavy.
Black: Yin (Dark, Shadow, Feminine)
White: Yang (Bright, Sun, Masculine)
Yin - Soft, cool, calm, introspective and healing
Yang - Hard, hot, energetic, moving and sometimes aggressive
The pattern shows the equal balance of both Yin and Yang.
The taoist symbol represents the balance of opposites in the universe. When they are equally present, all is calm. Whenever one's side is out-weighed, there is confusion, and disarray. Yin and Yang can symbolize any two polarized forces in the nature and the pattern of the symbol represents that nothing in nature is purely white or black. Taoists believe that humans upset the force frequently.
